The French Ligue 1 season resumes with a couple of the big names clashing as they look to gain their usual early season superiority over the rest of the teams in the league.
Paris Saint Germain will take on rivals Olympique Lyonnais on Matchday Six. Here is a preview of the games and tips from our in-house experts;
- Strasbourg vs Metz: Two struggling sides will lock horns in the first match of matchday six when 15th place Strasbourg take on third from bottom Metz as both sides seek to get their seasons turned around. Strasbourg are clear favourites to pick up three points from the match.

- Saint Etienne vs Bordeaux: Two of the league’s big boys of yore will face off starting the day at the wrong end of the table. 20th place Girondins de Bordeaux will travel to 19th place Saint Etienne with both sides looking to get good a result from the game. Bordeaux are marked underdogs in the game and have not picked a single win in the league this season. Saint Etienne are favourites to pick up the win.

- Nice vs Monaco: Struggling principality club AS Monaco will travel to undefeated OGC Nice in a bid to get their season started. Nice have only dropped points once this season under Christophe Galtier, the manager that led Lille to the league title last season. Nice are favourites to pick up maximum points against 16th place Monaco.

- Angers vs Nantes: High-flying Angers will hope that their good form still remains with them when they face 14th place FC Nantes on matchday six. Second place Angers have won three and drawn two of their matches to ensure an unbeaten start to the season in the French top flight. They are favourites to pick up maximum points from the match against Nantes.

- Clermont vs Brest: High-flying new boys Clermont Foot will welcome the challenge of struggling Stade Brest on matchday six of the 2021/22 Ligue 1 season. Despite losing to PSG last week, Clermont remain in sixth place in the league and would be looking to bounce back from that defeat when they take on 17th place Brest. The newly-promoted side are favourites to emerge victorious from the match.

- Reims vs Lorient: Undoubtedly buoyed by their last gasp win over champions Lille last time out, FC Lorient will look to make it consecutive wins after the international break against Reims. Both sides are similarly placed on the log, but Reims are favourites to pick up the win at home.

- Troyes vs Montpellier: After a promising start to the season, newly-promoted Troyes find themselves sliding down the log and are currently in 13th They will face 9th place Montpellier with the hopes of arresting that slump and getting their season back on track.

- Marseille vs Rennes: Unbeaten Olympique Marseille will look to continue their fabulous start to the season when they face Stade Rennais at the Velodrome on matchday six of the French Ligue 1 season. Third place Marseille have not tasted defeat yet this season in the league and would be looking to keep up the record at home to Rennes. They are favourites to emerge victorious from the match.

- Paris Saint Germain vs Lyon: Runaway leaders PSG will look to put the disappointment of dropping points against Club Brugge in their Champions League opener behind them when they take on rivals Olympique Lyonnais. PSG will hope Kylian Mbappe is fit to play a part in the game after seeing him hobble off injured in their midweek Champions League tie. PSG are clear favourites to emerge victorious in the match.
