Everton to draw with Tottenham – 5/2
It’s a battle of the ex-Real Madrid bosses to open the weekend, and both sides need a win we’re not sure they’ll get. Spurs were embarrassed by Manchester United last week, and Jose Mourinho will be feeling the pressure if they don’t get a result on Friday night. Everton haven’t won in the league for a long time, and we think this game is honestly too close to call. Poor Seamus Coleman has had a torrid time of it lately between club form and his international team’s performances, but his backline kept a clean sheet last week against Brighton, and we’re not sure this game ends much differently. You’ll get 15/2 odds on a goalless draw, but there’s always a chance Harry Kane pops up with a goal to throw the cat amongst the pigeons.
West Ham to beat Newcastle United – 1/1
We’ve been impressed by Newcastle United since coming back from the international break. They beat Burnley and drew with Spurs, so there’s definitely a chance they pull the upset this weekend in London, which is why the odds are the way that they are. West Ham are favourites, and rightfully so, but at evens, there’s significant doubt over whether or not they can get the victory. The Hammers have been on a great run since losing to Manchester United on March 14th, but they have an issue with leaking goals. They’ve picked up 7 points from Arsenal, Wolves and Leicester City, but they conceded 7 in those games. If you backed the draw here at 49/20 we wouldn’t blame you, and if you’re right you’ll make a little bit more than we will!
Wolves to beat Sheffield United – 4/6
It’s tough to see a different result here than any of the rest of Sheffield United’s last four games. Wolves aren’t as high in the table as Leicester City, Chelsea, Leeds or Arsenal, but Southampton who are in 14th put the bottom side to the sword handily enough. David McGoldrick isn’t a bad player up top, and there are some goals in this Sheffield United team, but they’re pretty much resigned to relegation and Wolves will fancy their chances at getting three points which will help them try to push the likes of Aston Villa and Arsenal for a good league standing in the middle of the table to build momentum for next season.
Arsenal to beat Fulham – 20/27
Ever since beating champions Liverpool over a month ago, Fulham have been in a terrible tailspin. Manchester City put three past them before Leeds, Aston Villa and Wolves picked up three points in their matches. Arsenal aren’t looking great of late, but we expect that they should have enough to beat their London rivals. The hosts got back on track after disappointing home results against Liverpool and Slavia Praha by trouncing bottom side Sheffield United in their most recent outing. Mikel Arteta is under a bit of pressure, and Fulham will be looking at this game as a chance to gain ground on Newcastle and Burnley, who are both underdogs on this match week.
Manchester United to beat Burnley – 1/3
It’s a short trip down the road for struggling Burnley to Old Trafford. Sean Dyche’s team are probably safe from relegation, but any dropped points will begin to make that lead look over Fulham look a little bit less comfortable. United are big favourites in this one at a price of 1/3 and if you’re looking for value we’d maybe recommend United to win and more than 2.5 goals to be scored which is just above evens at 21/20. Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s men looked so good against Spurs over the weekend, after shaky performances against Brighton and being knocked out of the FA Cup by Leicester City. We’re expecting a pretty comfortable Manchester United win in this one.
Leeds to draw with Liverpool – 16/5
This is one of the more difficult games to call this weekend, despite what the odds say. Nobody can possibly forget the ridiculously entertaining game these two had on opening day, which the Reds won 4-3 with a late Mo Salah penalty after the sides tossed the lead around like a hot potato. Since then, neither side have set the heather alight, but Leeds look a solid prospect in mid-table, just five positions and 7 points between them. We aren’t predicting the big upset win in Yorkshire, but Marcelo Bielsa’s men will fancy it. The Reds crashed out of the Champions League to Real Madrid during the week, and will now be desperate for a win to save their qualification hopes for next year.
Chelsea to draw with Brighton – 3/1
We know you’ll be surprised we’re not backing the 5/9 Chelsea win, but hear us out. Chelsea’s inconsistency this season has been matched only by Brighton’s bad luck, and we believe one of these has to play a factor this weekend. The visitors are one of the toughest teams to play against in the Premier League, but they just can’t seem to get the results. Thomas Tuchel’s side have got the champions-elect to contend with in the FA Cup Semi-Final this weekend, while Brighton will have had over a week between their last game and this one. We’re going for the draw at 3/1, but don’t be shocked if Graham Potter’s side can cause a surprise.
Tottenham to beat Southampton – 4/6
Spurs are back in our match week preview for a second time, because their game with Southampton from matchday 29 has been rescheduled due to the FA Cup Semi-Final. Southampton will likely have lost to Leicester City in that game on Sunday, check out our preview for more on that, and we would imagine that Spurs will compound their misery in this one. We’re going for a victory for the favourites.
Manchester City to beat Aston Villa – 10/27
Villa are in 11th, and Manchester City are in the ascendancy with a prospective quadruple on the horizon. There are a lot of games, but we think the Premier League table toppers are going to take control of this game and win it comfortably like they did the first one this year.
Leicester City to beat West Brom – 1/2
They haven’t fully sealed the Champions League yet, so we’re going with Leicester City to build on the FA Cup semi-final we expect that they will have won. However, we’re anxious to advise against the Baggies since the Chelsea game, so we want to let you know that they’re 5/1 which is a tasty bet.
