All set for the 2020-21 NBA Conferences finals

The stage is set for the 2020/21 NBA Conferences finals after the conclusion of the semi-final fixtures in the Eastern Conference.

The tickets for the final spots in the Eastern Conference had to go to the wire as semi-final games involving the Milwaukee Bucks and the star-studded Brooklyn Nets went to game seven.

At the start of the season the Brooklyn Nets who have super-stars Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden in their rooster were tipped for the NBA Finals but they short of the bookmakers tip.

The Brooklyn Nets took a 2-0 lead after back-to-back wins (115-107, 125-86) in Games 1 and 2 to secure their home court advantage.

Milwaukee Bucks tied the series with their own (86-83, 107-96) home wins in Games 3 and 4.

It should be pointed out that The Nets lost Kyrie Irving in the midway through the second quarter in Game four and James Harden didn’t play any part of the first-four Games.

But the nine-time All-Star and 2018 MVP who missed those games through right hamstring tightness returned for the remaining three games (5,6 and 7).

Nets won Game 5 (114-108) and again Bucks tied the series with a (104-89) win, in the Game six to set up a series deciding game at The Nets.

The deciding game between the second seed Brooklyn Nets and third seed Milwaukee Bucks lived up to its hype as it became just the first Game 7 to to go to overtime in 15 years.

In the end it was Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Bucks who won 115-111 at the end of the second overtime.

The other semi-final involving the Eastern Conference teams Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks also was decided at the end of Game 7.

Less fancied Atlanta hawked down top seed Sixers securing a 103-96 win in Game 7 for a 4-3 series win and a place in the Eastern Conference final against the Bucks.

Atlanta Hawks stunned the top seeded team in Game 1, securing a 128-124 win. Sixers tied the series with a 118-102 win in Game 2.

Sixers then took the lead with 127-111 win in Game 3 but The Hawks tied the series with a 103-100 win in game 4.

Hawks won Game 5 (109-106) but Sixers tied the series again with a 104-99 win in game 6.

Atlanta went to Sixers on the bounce of a poor 0-9 record in Games 7s on the road but the record meant nothing as they secured a 103-96 victory over the top-seeded 76ers on Sunday night.
