Top picks from the UEFA Nations League including Portugal v France

It is that time of the season when club football is on break all over the world for the International games.

This break, ‘The International break’ gives nations of the world the opportunity to play qualifiers, friendlies and also have the chance to build a Chemistry between players.

Meaning if there are games to played, there are games for Football Betting fans to bet on.

While there are lot of competitions to be played during this break, this article will focus on The UEFA Nations League which returns this weekend with teams facing off on match day 5 of the tournament.

Here’s a preview of some of our top picks for the weekend Nations League matches

PORTUGAL VS FRANCE

Both Portugal and France have got 10 points currently, winning 3 games, and both playing out a 0-0 draw when they faced each other in Paris.

This game could go either side, as Portugal will be looking to continue from where they stopped when they faced Andorra in a friendly game on Wednesday, while France  will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing loss to Finland in their friendly game.

This fixture is expected to be more open than that of the first leg in France, hence both teams scoring won’t be a bad bet.

SWEDEN VS CROATIA

Another game for Group A3, with both teams at the bottom two. Croatia has amassed three points in four games, but Sweden have lost all four games, and if they are to stand a chance to avoid relegation in the UEFA Nations League, they have to beat Croatia when they host them at the Friends Arena, Solna on Saturday.

Sweden will want to pick on the fact that Croatia has conceded in all group games this season, but Croatia will prove too strong for them and should edge them.

GERMANY VS UKRAINE

The Red Bull Arena, Leipzig will welcome third-placed Ukraine for Group A4. Germany are a point behind leaders Spain and on same point with Ukraine.

Ukraine on third place have had more wins than Germany  with Germany drawing 3 of their 4 games.

Joachim Low’s side edge Ukraine again having beaten them in the first leg.

SWITZERLAND VS SPAIN

Group A4 leaders, Spain travel to Switzerland looking to get a third win for themselves as they look to bounce back from their loss against Ukraine in their last game,

Switzerland are yet to get any win in the group, and with an addition of Switzerland conceding 7 goals in the group already, Spain’s win shouldn’t come so hard.

ITALY VS POLAND

Second placed Italy play host to first placed Poland at the MAPEI Stadium. Their fixture last month was a goalless draw.

This game’s winner will be first on the log going into match day 6 games that will decide who tops the group.

Poland’s Ill luck  could be the fact that their head to head record against Italy is for Italy’s favour, having lost 2 and drawn 2 in 4 meetings.

Italy have the advantage of playing at home, but with Poland’s form, a draw could be result once again.

BELGIUM VS ENGLAND

The Roberto Martinez led side lead they group A2 with 9 points, and a win against England with Denmark dropping points against Iceland will see them open up an incontestable lead in the group.

Belgium have an advantage of playing at home and will seek revenge having lost the first leg against England, but one thing that could work for England is that they have won their last four competitive games without conceding.

The game should be entertaining with goals from both sides just like the first leg
