The 2021/22 summer transfer window officially closed at midnight on Wednesday, bringing an end to one of the wildest transfer windows in recent history.
This transfer window saw previously unexpected transfers completed, with the legendary duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi taking on new challenges.
There was also the small matter of €220 million rejected by Paris Saint Germain from Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappe who has only one year left on his deal.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United:
In a deal that was only made official on transfer deadline day, Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Manchester United, where he previously spent six years between 2003 and 2009.
The Portuguese forward joined Manchester United for a fee of around €23 million from Italian giants Juventus. Ronaldo signed a two-year deal at Old Trafford with the option of a third year, and has been made the highest earner in the league.
He came close to joining Manchester City before Manchester United swooped in to sign him ahead of their city rivals.

2. Lionel Messi to PSG:
Argentine forward Lionel Messi completed a stunning move away from FC Barcelona after the club could not afford to offer him a new contract due to the dire financial situation it is facing.
Messi joined former Barcelona teammate and friend Neymar at the French capital on a two-year deal, and has already made his debut for the club against Stade de Reims in the French Ligue 1 as a substitute.
3. Jack Grealish to Manchester City:
Manchester City broke the British transfer record for the first time since 2008 when they signed Robinho as they brought in English midfielder Jack Grealish for £100 million from Aston Villa.
The 25-year-old has settled to life with the champions very well, scoring one goal and assisting another in three games in the league for the side.
4. Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea:
Chelsea completed a deal for the return of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku to Stamford Bridge for a fee of £97.5 million.
The 28-year-old helped Inter Milan claim the Serie A title in the 2020/21 season after joining from Manchester United two years earlier.
He joined Chelsea as an 18-year-old in 2011 before leaving for Everton three years and 15 appearances later.
5. Jadon Sancho to Manchester United:
After pursuing Jadon Sancho for years, Manchester United finally completed a £73 million move for the 21-year-old.
The English winger joined Borussia Dortmund as a teenager from Manchester City before transferring to Manchester United.
He has made his debut for the Red Devils already, appearing in all three of their Premier League matches so far this season.
6. Sergio Ramos to PSG:
Sergio Ramos completed a move from Real Madrid to Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer after his contract at the Spanish side was not extended.
The 35-year-old spent the last 16 years of his career in Madrid before moving over to the French capital.
7. Raphael Varane to Manchester United:
Manchester United completed a sensational swoop for experienced French central defender Raphael Varane from Real Madrid for £34 million.
The 28-year-old was scouted as a teenager by the Red Devils under Sir Alex Ferguson before moving to Real Madrid. He made his Manchester United debut in their 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
8. Antoine Griezmann to Atletico Madrid:
Having never fully come to grips with his move to FC Barcelona, French forward Antoine Griezmann has completed a loan move back to Atletico Madrid until June 2022.
The 29-year-old joined Barcelona for €120 million, but has seen both sides agree on a fee of €40 million in case the deal becomes permanent.
9. Achraf Hakimi to PSG:
Paris Saint Germain concluded a deal for Morrocan wingback Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan for around €60 million.
The 22 year old played a prominent role in helping Inter Milan picking up the 2020/21 Serie A title.
The former Real Madrid man has played in all of PSG’s matches this season.
10. Gianluigi Donnarumma to PSG:
Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma left AC Milan, the club that gave him his debut as a 16-year-old to join Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer.
The 22-year-oldwill provide competition for Keylor Navas in the goalkeeping department at the club.
